Machine 5 is a collaborative effort which began in 2014 with the production of Sarah Kane's Crave. Crave was directed by Greg Kowalski who incorporated real-time video projections, recorded voices, movement and live music into the piece. Since then he has directed Play by Samuel Beckett and Between the Day and the Night, which he both wrote and directed.
Machine 5’s latest production is Obscurum per Obscurius, a performance which takes place in blackout conditions.
Machine 5’s productions lie at the intersection of theater and performance art and have a significant technological component. The technology involves systems for sound/movement/image interaction as well as live sound.
